Pioneer CT-F 900

A transitional model but a h--- of a majestuous deck, with Pioneer trying to accomodate the control keys a little bit like Luxman does. The 900 was available with a wood enclosure as well, making it perhaps the most striking unit Pioneer ever designed. The CTF-900 is an early solenoid cassette deck. Solenoid means that various function such as play or fast forward are engaged using electro-magnets. This allows the front panel buttons to be electronic switches rather than mechanical linkage. This was more reliable and precise method. This was also a 3-head machine with separate record and play heads. That allows one to listen to the recording from the tape as it is being recorded. The ability to monitor the recording allows you to confirm in real time that the recording is being laid down properly. The only feature missing on this deck is the ability to use metal tapes. As a result, the CTF-900 was replaced by the CTF-950 after only one year on the market. This deck also uses the JA-R102 rack handles.

The stereo cassette deck which aimed at the highest class to all with 3 head schemes which adopted the Auto BLE system and the world's first ribbon sendust head. Three head schemes which prepared sound-recording/play combination head by the world's first ribbon sendust to succeed in a development and the erase head by a special composition are adopted as a head. The process of a ribbon sendust head makes the WIRE-center strike of a molten state blow off from a nozzle under relevant requirements, and is the rapid quenching lengthened through a direct roll. This has succeeded in 0.2mm - 0.3mm using as a 50micro thin band at once the sendust made into the limit with the conventional technology. And this ribbon sendust was molded into the lamination structure of 11 sheets, and the high region property of having improved the failure of a high region remarkably and having excelled in suppressing an occurrence of an overcurrent is realized.

The cassette deck which carried a wide-range system and Dolbies S and FLAT PERSONAL SYSTEM, and was developed as a new reference model. 1993 release. The wide-range system which improved sharply the high region threshold of the Recording-play frequency characteristic is carried. This technology is what paid its attention to the powerful magnetic property which a metal tape has, and the fine tuned azimuth head which tuned up the azimuth parallelism of the recording head and the reproducing head in three dimensions to submicron order has realized it. While reducing the azimuth loss in a high region sharply by this head, the phase response of right and left of a high region has been improved, and the improvement in a feeling of a lateralization has also been obtained.
